Prabhupada came to west, in gloomy dark night,
Nation so lost, all souls were growing blight,
Wondering what brings him, who he might fight,
With books and wisdom, bear shining armor bright!
All thought of a poor man walking in sight,
He felt sorry for the poor souls filled with fright!
All thought of what he’d ask in alms might,
He only came go give spiritual wisdom right!
Alone he walked in crowds, every day and night,
Alone were all for he was dancing with Krishna at height!
All seek material wealth, possessions they holding tight,
He scattered spiritual knowledge to everyone in sight!
A world full of cheaters, seeking to mislight,
He took the stand, holding Krishna ’s light! (4 regulative principles)
All were lost in self-gratification and lusty desires,
While he preached restraint and lit spiritual fires!
All sought to cheat and play cheap tricks with sleight,
He fought to bless, lit Krishna consciousness light.
All consumed by lust, pleasure for senses delight,
He resumed service for Krishna ’s pleasure, even in plight!
(Plight due to initial struggle and hardship in spreading KC)
In time, Krishna ’s mercies he relight,
Built spiritual solders, from souls so blight,
Change the face of earth, taught to stand upright;
Bring his dream to life, know so, we see insight!
