Verse 1:
Oh, Lord Krishna of Goloka
Loves to play with intimates
Cries for mother to hold in lap
Hold him in arms - goes he nap
Verse 2:
And when he’s up, he’s up
And then he’s running around, running around
Steals the butter and breaks the pot
Lord of all, she forgot,
Chase him down to teach him lesson,
Sharing sweet pastimes, know no reason
Verse 3:
Oh, a-harinam we will go
A-harinam we will go
On we fetch a little soul
And put him as we grow
And dancing singing on we go!
GAME 1
Use verses 1 and 2.
Children stand in a circle, and do the following actions:
For Verse 1:
intimates – Hug the kid on your right in the circle (Kids be even numbers)
Cries – rub the eyes as crying
hold in lap – bring arms together as making a baby sleep
nap – both hands on left cheek as turn your head on them as if sleeping
For Verse 2:
intimates - raise arms high with fingers outstretched
up - stand up
running around – run in a circle
butter – act like relishing butter
breaks the pot – act as throwing stone on pot
Chase – run in the circle again
know no reason – show pleasure signs in eyes as bring both hands over the heart
GAME 2 (A-Harinam We Will Go)
Use verses 1 and 3.
Children form a circle, with hands joined. One child stands outside the circle and is the "lost soul”. For verse 1, children dance in a circle to the left as “the lost-soul” skips to the right.
For verse 3, the two children closest to the “lost soul” lift their arms and force him into the circle by bringing an arch down on either side of him. The children slowly close the circle to trap the “lost soul”. On the words "dancing singing on we go" the children raise their arms and let the “soul” free. He then chooses another “lost-soul” and the game starts all over till all kids are covered.
GAME 3:
Use Verse 3.
Children form into two lines. The first (head) couple leads the partners as they march across the room. When they get to the other end, they separate from the line, with one kid going right, and the other going left. This would form two lines on left and right. The two lines march back to the other end of the line where the partners meet. The first couple {aka head couple} then forms an arch through which the other couples march. This creates a new head couple, and the game continues until all children have had a turn as head couple.
