A Kid’s game as metaphor towards how to follow the instructions of Guru.
“Symptoms of a devotee” lesson - Turned into a game.
Directions:
Make one kid as Guru who leads the line of kids.
Song:
Follow the Guru
Wherever he goes,
And do what he does,
As and when he tells you such.
First learn to talk,
(All make hand and lips movements as if talking
the same way as the Guru [leader] does)
Then learn to walk,
(All walk the same way as the leader does)
And then learn to sit,
(Everyone sits down after leader sits)
Then learn to stand,
(All standup from sitting position above)
And then you will learn to jump
With a clip, clip, clip!
(Jump in place or around the room
following the leader [Guru])
Now we'll run
The very race
(Run on the spot, or in short 'race')
And then we will STOP!
Everyone, stay in place!
(Everyone freeze in place)
Don’t worry, follow his pace,
You will reach Godhead, by his Grace.
Continue to complete the run to the
end line – That’s reaching Goloka!
Metaphors: (BG 2.54 to 2.61)
Speak: thoughts and feelings as expressed towards all
Walk: Metaphor for manners, behavior, etc.
Sit: How does his soul, intelligence, mind and senses focus
Stand: How a devotee positions himself as
Lord Krishna’s eternal servitor
Jump: How he seeks feels the ecstasy in
serving the Guru and Lord Krishna
Run: How he makes further spiritual advancement and
learns to conduct in material world
STOP: How to be like Lotus leaf; though
surrounded by material energy and be involved in
material world, how to keep on transcendental
platform by serving Lord Krishna’s happiness and pleasure
Just by knowing this, a devotee can conquer the vices
as described in BG 2.62
While contemplating the objects of the senses, a person
develops attachment for them, and from such attachment
lust develops, and from lust anger arises.
